Description
Traditional rice cake that is usually accompanied with red bean paste. Mochi is a Japanese rice cake made from ground and then molded glutinous rice. Traditionally, in Japan it is done in a ceremony called mochitsuki. Many different types of wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) are made with mochi. For example, daifuku is a soft, round mochi with a sweet filling of sweet anko, for example. Ichigo daifuku is a sweet stuffed with a whole strawberry.
Kiri Mochi can be prepared grilled, baked, or cooked. Bake it in a preheated oven for 2 or 3 minutes.
