Chestnut flour has a high nutritional value . It is very rich in carbohydrates, protein, fat, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It has a mild, sweet flavor and a slightly smoky aroma. Because chestnut flour does not rise when baked, we recommend substituting no more than 1/4 of the total amount of all-purpose flour used in a baking or bread recipe with chestnut flour.
