Homemade cocoa tablet

A healthier way to have chocolate bars is to make it ourselves. It can be either an activity to share with the little ones, a way to save or a way to have tablets adapted to your tastes. This simple recipe only requires you to make some basic ingredients: cocoa butter, cocoa powder and a sweetener. To ensure that your chocolate will not be too bitter, choose to add honey - a source of properties and energy - molasses? contains magnesium, calcium, copper, iron and potassium - or even rice or agave syrup. (According to our preferences). Once you have decided which sweetener you prefer, you can get creative. Give it a special touch by adding cinnamon, pepper, vanilla. . . Do you have more ideas? Brilliant! And finally decorate your tablet with nuts or grated coconut. Visually this chocolate is not as fine or smooth as industrial chocolate but the flavor is delicious.

How to make a chocolate bar at home?

Ingredients (1 tablet)
  • 60 g cocoa powder
  • 60 g cocoa butter
  • 30 ml honey, molasses or other sweetener
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/3 cinnamon powder
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper
Preparation (90 minutes approx.): 1. Sift the cocoa powder and add the cinnamon and ground pepper. 2. Melt the cocoa butter and pour in the sweetener. Mix well. 3. Add the butter and sweetener mixture to the cocoa and mix well until you have a creamy, shiny mass without lumps. A trick is that the container where you mix the ingredients is warm, this way the cocoa butter will not solidify as quickly and you will be able to stir well without the chocolate hardening on the sides of the container. 4. Fill the mold that we like the most and smooth the chocolate with the help of a spatula or knife. 5. Let cool in a cool, dry place. If you want to put it in the refrigerator, cover the mold with plastic wrap so that moisture does not come into direct contact with the chocolate. 6. Let it cool completely (minimum 1 hour) and unmold the tablet. Enjoy!
