Brownie with trio of walnuts

The Brownie is a type of cake originating in the United States , which due to the absence of yeast, takes on a crispy characteristic on the outside and softer on the inside. Did you know that this recipe originated by mistake? That's right, the absence of yeast was a small oversight by a well-known North American pastry chef and its result has been one of the most reproduced recipes worldwide, adopting changes and incorporating ingredients from each area. The combination of brownie with walnuts is the product of the creativity of those in charge of innovating in the baking sector, especially in our country. The inclusion of three varieties of nuts such as macadamias, pecans and country nuts provide varied texture and nutrients to the original recipe. Macadamia nuts have a mild flavor, slightly sweet and delicate texture. Pecans are characterized by their oleaginous nature, with a delicate and mild flavor; they are able to combine perfectly and at the same time contrast with the rest of the ingredients. And finally, country walnuts are a variety of nuts rich in omega three and other beneficial properties for the body. Let's start our brownie recipe with walnut trio that we have selected today. . . Ingredients (1 20x20 brownie):
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 yolk
  • 100 g white sugar
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 200 g chocolate 70% cocoa
  • 140 g butter
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 80 g loose flour
  • 100 g assorted raw nuts (Macadamia, pecans, country walnuts)
Preparation (1 hour approx.): 1. Heat the oven to 180ºC. 2. Melt the chocolate together with the butter in the microwave in 30 second intervals. Stir every 30 seconds so that it does not burn and melts evenly. 3. In another container, beat the eggs and yolk together with the sugars and salt. 4. Add the melted chocolate and butter to the egg mixture. 5. Stir well and add the sifted flour and, finally, the lightly chopped walnuts. 6. Place baking paper in a 20x20 mold and pour the brownie batter. 7. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the surface of the brownie begins to crack and when you poke it with a toothpick, it comes out a little moist and with crumbs stuck to it. 8. Let the brownie cool completely and unmold very carefully. 9. Cut square portions and serve with ice cream, chocolate or vanilla sauce. Enjoy!
