Bao bread is a type of stuffed bun typical of Chinese cuisine, also known as min pan, baozi or bau. It is a bread that can be served at meals as an accompaniment to main dishes, you can also fill it and make it a single meal. Classic fillings such as roast chicken with pickle are delicious. And if you prefer a more vegan alternative, you can prepare a type of filling with vegetables or any other that comes to mind. . . Combine it however you like! Now yes! Let's prepare our Bread Bao with this delicious recipe. . . PAN BAO RECIPE Ingredients (4 loaves)
  • 150 g organic Zamora flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 level tablespoon of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 g dry baker's yeast
  • 60 ml milk
  • 30ml water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
Preparation (2 hours approx.): 1. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, sugar and salt. 2. Dilute the yeast together with the milk. 3. Add the milk with the yeast, water and oil to the flour mixture. 4. Knead the mixture until it forms a smooth and homogeneous ball. 5. Let the dough ferment for an hour, covered with a cotton cloth. 6. After an hour, divide the dough into 4 parts. Form a ball with each part of dough and let it rest for 20 minutes. Cover the dough balls with a cloth. 7. Put water to boil in a pot and place a bamboo steamer. 8. Take a ball of dough and stretch it into an oval shape about 15 or 20 cm long. Repeat this operation with each ball. 9. Place each bao loaf on top of a piece of baking paper cut to size and place the loaves 2 at a time in the steamer. Steam for 10 minutes and leave for another 10 minutes with the steamer off the heat. 10. Remove the first 2 loaves from the steamer and fill them. We have made it with roast chicken and slices of sweet and sour pickles. 11. Repeat the operation with the remaining 2 loaves. Enjoy!
