Pumpkin latte like a pro

Your perfect companion for autumn days

Make a Pumpkin Latte Like a Pro. The Pumpkin Latte, for those who don't know, is a hot drink characterized by its pumpkin and spice flavor, giving it a seasonal touch. It's usually served with cream or whipped cream and is truly delicious. If you're not already salivating, keep reading. Before we get to the ingredients, let's learn about the origin of this drink. It seems that the Starbucks coffee chain created this spiced beverage in 2003. The intention was simply to sell it only during the autumn season, combining the flavor and aroma of the season. Now, let's get to the ingredients :)

Ingredients (for 6 cups):

The steps are very simple, we just recommend that before starting you prepare all the ingredients, the spices and that you take the pumpkin (if you are going to prepare the puree at home) out of the refrigerator a good while before, this will make it easier to remove the skin and cut it.
      • The coffee should be strong and of good quality to contrast with the sweetness of some of the ingredients. Brew a large pot of coffee and set it aside. Remember, the coffee must be kept hot.
      • To make the purée, peel and chop the pumpkin, removing the seeds and any stringy bits from the inside. Place it in a pot with enough water to cover it, and cook over medium heat. The cooking time will depend on the amount of pumpkin, and for this recipe, you don't need much; a medium-sized piece is fine. Remove from the heat when it's soft and purée with a food mill or immersion blender. Set aside.
      • Heat the milk over medium heat without letting it boil. Add 90 grams of pumpkin puree, 90 grams of brown sugar, and the spices to the hot milk. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
      • Cook the mixture over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until all the aromas blend and your kitchen smells wonderful. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla extract.
      • Divide the hot coffee between 6 cups and then pour the milk and spice mixture over the coffee.
      • It's ready! Now you can give it an extra touch by whipping the very cold cream and sprinkling a little cinnamon on top.
