False meatloaf is a traditional vegetarian food , in which soy protein is incorporated to replace animal protein. This cake is made up of a large amount of vegetables that provide an indescribable flavor. The fake meatloaf is one of the best alternatives offered by traditional vegetarian cuisine. Of course, for it to be this delicious you will have to follow our recipe. Here we leave it for you! FAKE MEAT PIE Ingredients (2 servings)  
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 50 g fine soy protein
  • soy sauce (optional)
  • 8 tablespoons crushed tomato
  • salt
  • sugar (if the tomato is very acidic)
  • oregano
  • ground pepper
  • 580 ml water (add less or more depending on the desired consistency)
  • 100 g potato flakes
  • grated cheese
Preparation (30 minutes approx.): For the fake meat filling: 1. Chop the onion and garlic. 2. Put the soy protein in a fine strainer and rinse well to hydrate it. 3. Sauté the onion and garlic. Add the soy protein when the onion is transparent. Stir and add a splash of soy sauce. 4. Add the crushed tomato, salt and a little sugar. Mix well and fry for a few minutes. 5. Add oregano and pepper to taste and set aside. 6. For the base and top layer of mashed potatoes: 7. In a saucepan, put 580 ml of water with a little salt and bring to a boil. If you want a puree with a thicker consistency, reduce the amount of water. 8. Add the potato flakes and remove the saucepan from the heat. Mix vigorously until you obtain a puree with a creamy consistency. Assembly of the fake meatloaf: 9. Put a base of mashed potato in a baking mold measuring about 20x11 cm or one that is suitable for 2 servings. 10. Place the fake meat filling and press lightly with a spoon. 11. Cover the protein filling with the leftover mashed potato. Add a little grated cheese and oregano and gratin until the cheese is toasted. Enjoy!
