Prawn and rice skewers with turmeric

This dish is also known as pincho or chuzo depending on the country in which it is made, however it has its origins in France, from there it derives its name from the French ''Brochette''. Although skewers were initially designed for game meats, it cannot be denied that they have magically evolved by incorporating seafood. Combine the shrimp skewers with turmeric rice following our recipe and show off with your guests and family!

Ingredients (1 serving)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave/rice syrup?
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
  • mix 5 ground peppers
  • 10 large prawns
  • 2 cherry tomatoes
  • 90 g rice with turmeric
  • water (2 parts water to one part rice)
  • salt
Besides :
  • 2 wooden skewers
  • chopped parsley
  • black sesame
Preparation (1 hour approx.): 1. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, syrup, sesame oil, ginger and ground peppers. 2. Add the shrimp and mix them well with the dressing. Reserve in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. 3. Bring the water and salt to a boil and add the rice with turmeric. Let it cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. 4. Place 5 shrimp on each skewer and put a cherry tomato on the tip. Place the skewers on a very hot griddle and pour the remaining dressing over them. They are ready in about 3 minutes. 5. When the skewers are ready, season them with parsley and black sesame and serve with the rice. Enjoy!
