Very easy Mochis recipe

Recipe of the month

Prepare very easy Mochis

Mochi, a traditional Japanese dessert, is prized for its soft and sticky texture, made from glutinous rice paste. This classic stuffed mochi recipe offers a delicious combination of flavors and textures, with a touch of sweetness and a vegetable filling that perfectly complements its soft wrapper.

Ingredients:

For the filling we recommend that you choose one of these options:

      • Azuki Red Bean Paste
      • sweet bean paste
      • sweet potato puree
      • Chopped fresh fruits (such as whole strawberries or blueberries)

Let's do it

In a bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour and sugar, making sure they are well integrated. Then, we add the water gradually, mixing until we obtain a soft and homogeneous dough. We cover the bowl with plastic wrap and cook the mixture in the microwave at maximum power for 1-2 minutes. This step is crucial to cooking the dough and achieving its characteristic elastic texture.

Once cooked, we remove the dough from the microwave and work it with a spatula to ensure that it is completely smooth and pliable. Next, we divide the dough into portions of the desired size and form them into flat disks.

Filling time

In the center of each disc, we place a teaspoon of our chosen vegetable filling. Carefully, we wrap the filling with the dough, sealing the edges well to form small mochi balls. This process can be a bit sticky, but with a little practice, you will soon become proficient in the molding technique. We repeat these steps with the rest of the dough and the filling.

Once our filled mochi balls are complete, we can give them the final touch by sprinkling a little cornstarch or icing sugar on top. This will help prevent them from sticking together and give them a more appetizing look.

And ready! Now you can enjoy your delicious vegetable-filled mochi. This dessert is perfect to share on any special occasion or simply to treat yourself to a sweet treat. Its unique combination of flavors and texture make it irresistible.
