Dates are a fruit from the date palm tree that is very popular in Iraq and Iran . They are ideal for use in baking to produce jams, cakes and desserts due to their high sugar content, although it is very common to consume them as fresh fruit. Dates are considered high in carbohydrates, minerals such as iron, potassium and phosphorus and are also rich in vitamins , mainly vitamin B5 or pantothenic acid, although they also contain significant amounts of vitamins A and C, niacin, thiamine, tryptophan and riboflavin.

However, it is necessary to be cautious in the amount of consumption of this fruit in a state of partial ripeness, since the accumulation of tannins also acts as a toxic substance for the body. 4.
